Lately on every morning commute, I listen to Off Book, the improvised musical comedy podcast. Because half the jokes happen inside a rhyme scheme, they land extra hard, and I’ve been stifling my guffaws on the train. It puts me in a great mood for the start of my workday.

Get your outdoor space ready for summer

I hung some nice LED string lights above our back patio so it looks kind of like a hip restaurant back there. It was a more complicated job than I was expecting, but it sure was rewarding. It looks great!

Be careful before you delete beloved apps

Even though I’m all about deleting apps when you no longer need them—especially deleting them from any social networks you used to log into them—I started replaying the Disney Emoji Blitz game on iOS this week, and I’m sad that I nuked my progress years ago. Goodbye, hard-earned levels. Goodbye, hatbox ghost emoji. It’s been fun to try and chug my way through the game as a little time-waster, even though I swear the game’s drops and emoji treasure chests are 100% rigged.

Clear some extra closet space

I was running out of hangers and space in my closet to hang my t-shirts, so I bought a cheap plastic bin and now I file them instead. It takes up much less space and I didn’t have to deal with hangers, which I hate for some reason.

Do your own damn laundry

This is incredibly mundane, but my neighborhood wash and fold has been a little hard on some of my clothes lately, so I finally got myself a drying rack. I’m more inclined to hand wash clothes when I have some place to dry them besides flinging them over the shower curtain rod to drip down onto the bathroom floor.
