什么是控制系统？(a control system?)
在计算中，控制系统是一组设备，用于管理计算机网络中固有的活动以及连接到该网络的设备。构成控制系统的组件配置为有助于管理网络的整体功能，包括组件之间的命令处理和监督这些组件与其他网络的交互。有效运行时，系统能够管理所有关键命令，并确保整个网络中的资源分配处于最佳水平。
目前常用的控制系统配置有几种不同的类别或类型。顺序系统就是一个例子。当所涉及的网络参与按规定顺序执行特定操作的重复任务时，这种配置通常很有用。此类活动的一个例子是计算机驱动的装配线，在该装配线中，系统控制某种类型部件的增量装配。与网络连接的设备按特定顺序激活，以执行最终导致创建成品的任务的每个步骤。
另一种类型的控制系统称为线性系统。在这里，重点是在某些事件发生时激活某些响应。这种类型的系统通常用于管理通过系统的天然气流量，当存在需求时，控制机制释放更多的流量，如果检测到系统中存在某种漏洞，则降低甚至关闭流量。
还有一种混合型控制系统，旨在将顺序系统和线性系统的功能结合起来。通过这种方法，系统将能够轻松地管理重复性任务，但如果出现某些事件，还可以使用传感设备来减缓甚至停止该序列。这种类型的系统也倾向于允许手动干预，当需要进行某种类型的维修时，这一功能可能会有所帮助。
控制系统的确切结构取决于整个过程中涉及的任务类型。由于计算机技术在许多曾经由人工执行的任务的自动化中发挥着重要作用，因此有必要确保控制系统的设计能够管理尽可能多的突发事件，同时也允许在必要时进行手动干预。为此，目前的许多系统配置都包括自诊断功能，用于检查控制装置的效率并报告发现的任何异常。这使得对控制系统进行任何必要的维修成为可能，而对操作的干扰最小。
