什么是市场价格(market price?)
在金融学中，术语市场价格或市场价值是指证券交易发生时的最新价格，如果证券交易是在交易所完成的。如果交易是在柜台上进行的，经纪人和经销商直接相互协商，则该术语指最新出价，即经纪人要求的价格，以及最新询价，即经销商要求的价格。作为一个经济概念，它是指当市场供求满足时，商品或服务在市场上的价格。
有影响力的英国经济学家阿尔弗雷德·马歇尔（Alfred Marshall）提出了供求模型，以解释人类行为如何决定市场价格。供给是生产者愿意以给定的价格提供的服务或商品。需求是购买者愿意以给定价格购买的服务或商品的价值。价格和供给之间存在着反向关系，而价格和需求之间存在着直接关系。
在典型的供需图上，X轴表示数量，Y轴表示价格。供给曲线向上倾斜，而需求曲线向下倾斜。两条曲线的交点是市场价格，也称为平衡点。各种因素可以显著改变供给或需求曲线，影响均衡价格。例如，天气的变化会影响某些商品的供应，而消费者偏好的变化会极大地改变需求。
这种关于价格的供求理论虽然很流行，但却被批评为过于简单化。可以说，一种商品或服务在进入市场之前可能已经有了价格。此外，生产者在创造商品时并不总是考虑买家。
马歇尔理论的另一个矛盾来自凯恩斯主义经济学，以著名经济学家约翰·凯恩斯的名字命名。他指出，价格可能会因不响应需求或供应的波动而变得“粘性”。当价格下降时，这种情况尤其可能发生。这种情况的一个著名例子是20世纪90年代的波士顿住房市场，随着市场枯竭，买卖双方无法就市场价格达成一致。
对供求自然规律的其他阻碍是垄断和寡头垄断。当某一商品只有一个或数量有限的供应商时，它有权决定产品的价格。类似地，在垄断的情况下，如果有多个卖方和一个买方，买方可以决定价格。
