什么是累加器？(an accumulator?)
蓄能器是一种利用压力储存能量的储存装置。蓄能器用于控制液体和气体通过其连接的机器的流量和功率。蓄能器的主要类型是液压和水-空气组合蓄能器。
液压蓄能器或压力蓄能器用于吸收冲击、维持压力、分配液体，并为主泵提供备用功率。蓄能器的主要区别之一是气体和液体的存储和转换方式。保持流体和气体分离的部件称为分离器。分离器有三种类型：气囊、隔膜和活塞。
在气囊式中，一个称为气囊的内部储罐充满氮气。当气囊充满时，压力增加，直到超过预设极限。当压力超过限值时，顶部的一个阀门打开，液压油进入并流向机器需要润滑的区域。
采用隔膜式，气瓶焊接在蓄能器的中心，气体通过隔膜插入。随着压力增加，气缸充满，当压力达到最大设定值时，阀门打开，液体进入。囊式和隔膜式之间的主要区别在于可以承受的压力大小。囊式压力比为4:1，隔膜式压力比为10:1。比率越高，系统可以容纳的流体越多，这使得系统效率更高。。
在活塞式中，活塞安装在容纳气体的气缸顶部的装置内部。当气体被迫进入气缸时，活塞移动以保持压力。当压力达到最大值时，活塞打开释放气体，使液压油流入。这种类型的蓄能器通常用于大型设备，如重型拖拉机设备。然而，活塞式是为更连续的使用而设计的，因此它通常不能长时间保持高压气体。。
蓄能器的工作方式与液压蓄能器类似。主要区别在于，不是使用气体来建立压力，而是使用水。当空气充满蓄能器箱时，阀门打开，迫使水流出。这项技术是大多数办公室水冷却器的工作原理。当有人转动阀门放水时，空气将水位向下推向放水阀。
