美国银行业协会（American Institute of Banking）提供的证书和文凭课程不应与美国银行协会（ABA）的认证银行家协会（Institute of Certified Bankers，ICB）提供的认证课程混淆。ICB提供零售银行管理、合规和风险管理、抵押贷款、财富管理和信托、退休服务和零售银行等领域的12项认证。除了完成必修课程外，ICB还要求考生在获得认证之前，必须通过考试，证明其对该学科的熟练程度。证书持有人还必须支付年度续签费，并每年完成最低数量的继续教育学分，以维持证书。。
